Tuesday 13 May, 2014 Annual General Meeting at
The 2014 AGM was held, the Annual Reports from the President, Club Captain and Treasurer were presented. Elections were held for the Executive and Committee positions, and the Club is off and running again for 2014/2015.
Remember, all Financial Memebers are welcome to attend Committee Meetings - at 1800 on third Sunday of each month. Next is Sunday 15 June
Club Competitions have now moved to the afternoon of the first Sunday in each month, starting 4 May, 2014. This is mainly on the Nelson airfield but may occasionally be at Motueka or Omaka airfields.
Sunday 8 June: quick change:
Flight Planning Competition. Bring your Nav equipment and VNC C9 to the Clubhouse from 1200. Show off your skill, AND win a prize!! (See who gets the Wrong-Way Corrigan Trophy for Outstanding Ineptitude!). Test yourself against the Young Eagles....
note this event is on the second Sunday, due to the Queens Birthday Holiday weekend on the 1st.
Sunday 6 July:
Precision Landing Competition Briefings at the Clubhouse at 1200. Come and strut your stuff - how good are you against the rest of us?? Show the Younge Eagles what real aircraft handling is like. And right after the Awards Dinner, panadol will be available at the Bar.
Competitions include: Aerial Golf! Spot Landings, Streamer Cutting! Bombing! Life Raft dropping! In most, we can carry a passenger in the plane so come along to watch and you may even get a free flight!!!!!
The Bar is always open after Competitions, and usually the BBQ is fired up as well. Join us at the Bar whether you compete or not.
Come Flying with the Nelson Aero Club
Come fly with us and experience the beauty of the Nelson region from the air. This is something you have to see to believe.
The Aero Club is a not for profit organisation. As a club we have a very social side from get togethers, dinners, club trips away and club competitions. All of which are great fun.
Membership with the Nelson Aero Club allows a discount flying rate with us and all Aero Clubs in New Zealand, as well as participation in all our Club Competitions, which develop and hone your flying skills.
Our Instructors are the highly regarded professionals at the Nelson Aviation College - the Air New Zealand Preferred Flight Training Organisation and largest Flying School in New Zealand. We provide everything from introductory Trial Flights through Private Pilot Licence (PPL) to full Commercial (CPL). The fleet includes Cessna 152's and 172's as well as twin-engine Piper Seneca and Seminoles, and Robinson helicopter training.
